Water Soluble/fragmented carbon nanotubes


Exogenous nanostructured tubular materials are able to induce selectively the anisotropic diffusion of water molecules in the surrounding medium in a manner detectable by MRI methods. Homogeneous pi-pi stacking adducts multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs-Gd(III)DOTAPyrene derivatives) of relatively uniform distributions (around 170 nm) have been prepared, are highly water soluble and easily functionalized.
